- Massage therapy dates back thousands of years. References to massage appear in ancient writings from China, Japan, India, and Egypt.
- In general, massage therapists work on muscle and other soft tissue to help you feel better.
- In Swedish massage, the therapist uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration, and tapping.
- Sports massage combines techniques of Swedish massage and deep tissue massage to release chronic muscle tension. It’s adapted to the needs of athletes.
- Myofascial trigger point therapy focuses on trigger points—areas that are painful when pressed and are associated with pain elsewhere in the body.

Meet our RMT: Samantha Keller
Samantha Keller is currently practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist in the building of Dynamic Health and Rehabilitation located in Listowel, Ontario. She graduated from Georgian College (Barrie Campus) in August of 2017 from a three year program (2100 hour) of Massage Therapy. Samantha chose to complete this program in two years, continuing her learning throughout the summer months. She a member of the College of Massage Therapy of Ontario.
Her interest in Massage Therapy began when she was placed at a massage clinic through Listowel Distract Secondary School’s co-op program. She was fortunate to witness full treatments while studying the basic anatomy of the muscles and tissues. Her encouragement to pursue a career in Massage therapy was found during each visit from the beginning, greeting the patient with a smile. To the end result of great relief in presenting symptoms.
Samantha is grateful to have returned to where she considers home, giving back and helping to keep her and her families community healthy.
Samantha strives to achieve the best results for her clients by carefully adapting techniques and a treatment plan to best suit her client’s individual needs. Techniques she incorporates into her treatments are Swedish Massage (light and deep tissue), Isolytic Release, Muscle Energy Technique, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Pressure Release and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching.
In her spare time she enjoys getting out in the great outdoors and living an active lifestyle while, running, hiking, camping, gardening, rollerblading, snowshoeing, fishing and taking photos.
